2004 C230Kompressor
I am thinking of selling my 97E420 (107k) and my 86 560sl (200k). I am thinking of my next vehicle..I want to stay around 20k total investment. I noticed a sweet little C230kompressor and immediately like the look. Can anyone tell me if this is a good reliable and safe vehicle. I know Chrysler was involved with this year..and I understand once Chrysler became involved there were problems with the MB product. Should I stay away with later model benz?

I like my 2000 C 230 K.
Purchased 3 years ago ( with 25 k miles ), now has 85 k miles, with virtually no problems. Impressed with the power & fuel economy. Really would'nt worry about purchasing it, providing you can get the history on it. Far as I know, Chrysler did not have any input, i.e. a chance to screw it up. ;) |
What is the MPG on this car..plenty of power for a 4cylinder? So the 2003's didn't have Chrysler imput?
|
Straight highway run = 30 mpg, around town 25 mpg.
Power? Not many things will keep up to it ( and that's coming from a guy that used to drive 5.0 Mustangs ). :D NOTHING to do with Chrysler. It's the other way around, M-B has made a lot of changes to the " Chrysler Way ". ;) |
I also have an '00 C230K with 52k, and I'll second everything that manny has already said. I absolutely love this car, it's a pleasure to drive, and I've seen as much as 33.5mpg on an all highway tank. Roomy enough, and has awesome get up and go when you hit the gas. An excellent choice IMO.
