Hi all,

I have a squeak in my 91 300e that sounds as if it is coming from the pass side of the dash. I have pulled the box out and find nothing. If I am on the outside and have someone shut the door it sounds as if it is behind the battery but again, everything is solid

It makes the noise with every bump and is driving my mad!!!

Has anyone else had this happen or an idea where to look

Do you think it could be coming from the door or dash upholstery rubbing? Also, consider the hood hinge and anything mounted underneath the carpeting at the toeboard.
Squeaks can be tough to find.

Yea I have tried to move touch everything in the door and dash and cannot find it.... It is driving me mad..

I just had a similar problem with my 03 E500. Same squeak everytime I went over a bump, got in and out of the car or closed the door. They replaced the "ball joints", cost about $600, my extended warranty covered about $400 of it, runs great now, no squeak and it saved me the hassel of running the car into a tree to stop the noise. I feel your pain.
