Cooling system w201 2.3 92 model

I lost the thread but I though I saw somewhere that if your 2.3 is running a little hot there is a upgraded thermostat you can purchase? I also read where you may be able to switch some of the conectors on the cooling switches. Any help would be great!!!!

Howdy tex,

First, you should make 100% sure that all the other parts of the cooling system are working correctly; otherwise you will just be covering the problem up. Also, are you sure that the car really is running hot? Many owners get worried because benz's tend to run warmer than other cars, but this is just the way they were made. Anyway, there are a couple (three) T-stats with different opening and closing temps, check them out on partsshop. Let us know if you need any help troubleshooting the cooling syste-lots of stuff on here about it, do a search.

cheers,
dan r.

What temperature is the car getting to and under what conditions?? I would strongly advise against a low temp thermostat, instead it's better to fix the problem if there is one.
