C230 Kompressor check engine light / vacuum leak?

Hello,

I own an '04 C230 Kompressor with 50k Km.

The check engine light repeatedly lights up and the suspected cause is a vacuum leak somewhere in the fuel system.

I get it taken care of and the first tank of gas I get, it relights.

It is in the dealer for the third time for this.

Has anyone experienced this, and if so, what was the fix?

Thanks in advance.

Quite possibly a canister purge valve or charcoal canister. Did the dealer show you any paper work with the technician findings (codes?). I will check for any DTB's for you.

Found a bulletin that might help (the technician at the dealer should have found this), what is the first seven (7) digits of your VIN#? This bulletin may or may not apply, you VIN will determine.

Anyway, you dealer should be able to perform this for you.

Thanks for the reply.

They have the car so I will call them to get the VIN.

I will also make them aware of the bulletin you referenced me to.

Thanks again!

It turned out to be the charcoal canister.

Thanks for the tip, you were right on the money!

Thanks again,

m.
