Introduced to Windows. Not Microsoft, Mercedes

Last night my right rear window was lowered (passenger pushed the wrong button) but when raised it wouldn't close all the way, it always stopped about two inches from the top, I could tell it was hitting something. I took it apart and found that the plastic part of the widget that goes between the rail and the window and the cable had cracked. What's it called, is it available by itself, is it replaceable?

I was also running the motor trying to be careful with the cables but I guess I wasn't careful enough and now making bad cable sounds and only working most of the time. Can that be fixed, or do I have to replace it and write the cost off as tuition?

And why is it called a "regulator"?

On the plastic part: On my older models they call it a "guide jaw"
and is available for around $10 at dealer, less at independants.
Not exactly sure if your model is the same.
You are real close to that new dealer on Soledad canyon
(down from Saugus on the way to the mall).
Really nice folks and parts dept is open Saturdays 8 to 5 (I think 5).

Yes I'm real close to that dealer. I'll be stopping by with the broken pieces tomorrow. It's nice having a close dealer, a picture is worth a thousand words but putting a part in your hands is priceless. I went there when they first opened and drooled a lot, including the one with the $250,000 sticker price.

I'm still worried about the cable, anybody have any experience with it?
