Buy Parts vs. AllPartsExpress - different prices - same part

This morning I noticed that "AllPartsExpress" has been added at this site.

Out of curiosity, I started comparing prices between the 2 sites for basic things like filters.

In my case, a Mann transmission filter at Buy Parts is $14.20. At AllPartsExpress, the same filter is $10.88

What gives?

Different suppliers! Some of our suppliers will not let us sell their parts on the same webstore as their competitors. For this reason we have more than one store. Fastlane (Buy Parts) and AllPartsExpress.

In general...
AllPartsExpress has better prices but less inventory to choose from.

I clicked on the AllPartsExpress link in Bill's post.

But I've never seen a link for AllPartsExpress elsewhere on MercedesShop.

Where is it?

Out of curiosity, I looked up some parts for a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 2.4l pick-up that I own.

Under "Engine" section, they show a "timing belt". Just one problem. That motor uses a chain; not a belt.

The "Buy Parts" sections here(WorldPac) correctly shows a "timing chain".

Then I started looking at parts for my MB. Fuel pump relay listed is for pre-90 models, so you'd get the wrong FPR if you ordered from these people. 90-91 models have the FPR inside the MAS.

Drive belt idler pulley brings up a photo of an engine shock.

In some cases, one would have to wonder if the wording is right & photo is wrong or vice versa?

I'll stick with WorldPac.

AllParts only shows 2 parts for my Isuzu pickup.

Front brake rotor and oil filter. The oil filter appears to be incorrect.

It's a secret!;)

Links to AllPartsExpress:

- There's an announcement at the top of each forum "New Parts Store"
- Banner Ad on What's New Page
- Banner Ad on ML, G-Wagen, Unimog forum
- Banner Ad on Detailing forum
- Banner Ad on Body Repair/Rust Repair forum

You are right...
- Belt is wrong & Chain is correct
- Fuel pump relay shown is for pre 1990 model
- Photo and part number are for engine damper NOT idler pulley.

We will get these catalog corrections made.

Right now, the "depth" of inventory is really in Honda, Acura, Volvo & Saab. I'm not surprised that there are only 2 parts listed for Isuzu. We will have more parts listed within 2 months or so.

I don't know about the potential Isuzu oil filter issue.
