I saw a 1982 280 TE (gas/wagon)for sale. It is obviously an import. Does anyone know what chassis/engine/transmission that has, or any other specifics? I also wonder if anyone has a good source for imported Mercedes parts, or if PartsShop can get them. Any ideas or opinions about this model would be greatly appreciated. I am very curious about it.

As far as the engine goes, it's somewhat similar to the 280E that did come to the states. About 30 hp more!! compression, cams, & intake systems. The chassis is the same as the 300TD / 300TDT that we got here as well. The chassis should be a T123.093 & the engine M110.988. Parts are available at most places that sell MB parts!

Cool! Thanks M.B.DOC, I have always wondered why Mercedes did not import the gas wagons until the late eighties. The gas wagons seem to be quite popular in other countries, and I'm sure they would have been a big hit here.
