It is 87 300D, W124 body. The cloth material of the seat belt was at the door latch when the driver door was closed. The door is now not completly closed but it cannot be open either. The lock button is in up position. Pull the door handle from outside and it feels normal. I tried pushing the door hard from inside of the car and still not able to open the door. Any suggestion?
Thank you. David |
Have someone stand outside the car to catch the door when it opens, then get into the passenger seat, brace your back against the r. door, and then kick the driver door from inside using both feet while your brave and trusting friend holds the door latch open. You might pad the door panel to keep feet marks off of it and, obviously, have the glass in the down position to keep from breaking it. I think kicks will work better than steady pressure.

Be sure to try to push and pull the door with the handle held in the open position.

Ron and Donnie,
Thank you for the suggestions. I tried again with my feet this time as suggested. Hitting the bottom of the window frame (it should be the strong part of the door) from inside with window down and someone pulling the door handle from outside, it took two strikes to open the door. Thank you again for all the help. David |

Now don't let it happen again now that you know what it taks to open it afterwards... :) Alon |

When you are in hurry you tend to slam the door hard without looking and the worst thing happens. David |
Hmmm...I wonder if that's why some of those things are called "kick panels". every door should have one :D :D :D
