does anyone know what this part is for? it was under the seat and hooked up to a 8 pole plug.

I think you need it for window operation. or seat if you have an electrical seat

Which car ?
Picture would be nice, but not required.

If your car has memory seats I would take a guess towards that
being the controller for the seat memory.

My car only has power seats and has no devices under the seats
except wire connector for power motors.

that relay is specifically for the seat heater
