expansion valve

Where is the expansion valve located on my 1990 300SE? How do i get to it ? And what all will I need to take out? The reason is because my freon keeps on leaking out.

Behind the instrument cluster, high on the left side of the evap case.

I'm curious why you think the txv is leaking if you don't know where it is. It ain't a bunch of fun, but it is cheap.

It has freeon in it but its not cooling? compressor is comeing on. 3 mths ago we put freeon in it it was cooling and it lasted 2 weeks. Now when we put freeon its not cooling and its full of freeon. 2yrs ago somebody locked at it and said it would need an expansion valve.

Not the first, absolutely no information.

So what are the pressures?

If you want an answer you have to pose a question. Stating it is broke, what is wrong only is good for guessing games.
