In the scheme of things this is not a big deal, however I hope someone can help. The sun visor will not stay in the up position.
How can I fix the problem and what steps are necessary to remove the visor? I've tried the SL Forum and I received a response suggesting that I try this forum. |
We had the same problem with our 1986 300SL. The sun visor kept gowing down and up several inches during topless trips. The W113 SL's had sun visors that could be adjusted/tightened so that they wouldn't move by wind, the W107 misses these adjustable sun visors.
Does your sun visor suffer from the wind or does it drop down at any possible moment regardless whether the top is on or down? greetingz, |
Is there a phillips head screw on the sunvisor right near the outside edge near the rod the visor pivots on? This screw can be tightened to increase the friction on the rod. If the whole rod/ ball socket that allows the visor to pivot out is loose, you must remove the windshield frame trim to access a slotted screw that controls the tension on the ball socket. Hope this helps.
