P0302 1998 C230 Mb Help!

I am trying to figure out why my second cylinder is misfiring. I had the spark plugs replaced and also the coil pack. I have also switched the spark plugs and cords around. I Still have that code come up and of course the car still runs poorly. What else can I check for?

I have not checked the compression an don't really know how. Unfortunately I have quite a bit to learn yet.

I bet you a nickel you need a new gas cap. Ask me how I know.

If you don't have a "known good" gas cap to test with, the other thing you would look for is a lack of the hissing sound when you open the gas cap.

The same thing happened to me last week. I replaced the coil, but it kept sputtering. When I replaced the connector, instant relief. I think it has a resistor in it that goes bad with the coil. Hope it works!
