r12 and r134a
A/C, AC, Air Conditioning, R134, R134a, R12, Hi, High, Lo, Low, Pressure, Chart, Table, Temperature, Charge, Recharge Hope this helps everyone. Sorry if this information has already been posted, I looked and could not find such a table. Perhaps someone can post detailed charging/recharging instructions for a more complete AC repair thread. Safety First!! |
Of course A/C recharging ins't really a DIYer as by law R12 isn't to be purchased by anyone unless they are licensed!
I've seen trained technicians have damage to hands AND eyed if they didn't take TIME to protect themselves doing A/C system work. |
You're absolutely correct MB Doc. I'm ceratinly no expert on AC repair or service, but I believe that with the correct tools AND information anyone can perform some AC work themseleves. It is always a good idea to know what you're doing - buy an Automotive AC Repair Manual and/or get the AC Repair DVD from Autozone, always have the proper tools for the job, and always pay attention to the safety warnings in the manual, on the DVD, and on the refridgerant and/or guages.
Here is the website for epa609 cerification, required for any R12 purchase: http://www.epatest.com/e_609cert.html |
I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't have the tools, the knowledge, the safety equip, or the info....BUT, armed with a few cans of Craigslist R-12, a nifty red hose and a few beers, I have taken my AC to near South Pole status!
Sorry, I don't mean to besmirch your thread or good intent. Just gloating over my recent reefer repair. Ya'll be coo. I am verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. |
