Idle Control Valve
My car a 1987 300 E is having some hesitation and rough idle during startup and first 1 minute or so of driving. Researching the site I think the culprit may be the idle contol valve. Since I am a mechanical novice could anybody tell me where to find this part and how to clean it. Thanks.

Question is, how do you remove it? I think this is the problem with my 85' 380SE. Anywhere here that lists step by step instructions? Thanks.

very simple
to remove, just bolted down, be careful not to damage formed hoses (check them for leaks/cracks while you're there. It's right on top of engine front, dead center. Somewhere on this site is discussion about a modification to the ICV hose involving a small jumper that helped out my 380SE - Your 87 may have it (from the factory) Do a search for the mod if you don't have it already.

Thanks Derry. Are there any fuel lines running to it, or strictly vacuum lines?
