Misc 89 560 SEC questions

Hey all,

Got a few questions on my 1989 560 SEC 90k.... pick away!

1. Rear shocks. I assume I have the self-leveling system. The rear is not rock hard, does not clunk on bumps, rides pretty nicely overall, but does not move up and down. Had two people jump in the trunk and the rear did not go up at all. Visibly no leaks detected, looking for troubleshooting tips. I do hear the hissing sound from the rear when the car is running (my 87 560 SEL did that too). Not sure what causes it but it's there.

2. Have some sort of oil leak, either head gasket or valve cover gasket. Which one is more popular?

3. My sunroof works in 3 directions, pop up, slide backward and slide forward. The "pop down" motion of the switch doesn't work. I have to press to slide back to get the roof back down and let go right away. Is there any cleaning of the switch or what's recommended?

4. The driver's window switch doesn't have auto-down, like my 92 300D. Is that a function of the switch or something else? Can I get a switch with that feature and swap it in?

I have a few other misc questions, but I need to do some searches on them as I think they are more common.

Thanks for any info!! Love the SEC!

1) most likely the accumulators are bad...

2) the valve cover gaskets are cheap and made of rubber...

3) The sunroof has a calibration point in the trunk so that it stops at the correct location..

4) the cars with "express" down have a COMPUTER to accomplish that feature,
