OK got on the Benz dealer about the left side rear view mirror..got the mirror off the car (the hard way) OK so I broke the inside plastic cover plate...hope I can get a new one..

the CD said to push plastic lock out of handle by means of a screwdriver...thats the inside adjust piece. I cant for the life of me get it off the old mirror and put it on the new one..should I not waste my time and just order a new one??

I also need to know does anyone have any ideas on what kind of glue to use to glue the glass piece back on the mirror itself?

thanks

Maybe this will help:

"Pry plastic lock off of grip with a small screwdriver", It looks from the picture that you push the lock into the mirror, and then you must pull the handle off in a sideways direction, exposing an "L" shaped metal piece. If the handle is not coming off easily, perhaps you do not have the lock pushed far enough or you need some lube sprayed on to loosen the handle.

well since the car was 18 years old and the metal looked really crusty..I called the benz dealer and got the new handle and the triangle piece for under 10.00.

when I took the old mirror housing off the car it just crumbled.

thanks anyway and maybe I soon I wont have to replace all the parts on the car..*L*
