E 220 CDI 2004, want to buy?

I have W124 E320 1995 Station wagon which has proved to be a very good car. Well one of my friend who works in a rent a car business is recommending me to buy the above subject car. (E 220 CDI 2004). The car has done 425,000 KM. I know the mileage is very high, but even then when i drove it was just like a brand new machine.

Any views will be appreciated as the car has done a lot of mileage. Or if someone still recommends to buy it then what are the things which should be seen in the car.

That is SO many km for such a new car...over 500km per day (if it was delivered on Jan 1, 2004 - I suppose it could have been before then).

there are some big plusses on a car with that many miles and that new.

a lot of age related things will be like new.

if it could be bought cheaply enough it may be a good deal.

Yes you are right. I am getting this car in trow away price. Only 20,000Dirhams (One US $ is equel to 3.66 Dirhams). The car looks like a brand new one.
I again request as what to check in the engine. How to determine that it is not consuming oil and stuff like that. Secondly are there some electrical problems in this car.The car cannot be taken in a workshop for checking as it is going to be auctioned.

Qamar, request all service records for the car. Look under the hood to check that there are no oil leaks and check that everything functions OK ... especially the AC. Also, carefully examine for body and paint work ... this car may have been in a major accident.

I will definately be checking for the oil leaks. Well this car has full service histroy as it was used by the biggest transport company of my region.

Do you think that this make and model has some problems with the AC?

Qamar, I'm unaware of any AC problems with that car. I only recommended checking that the AC and all other features work properly so that if you purchase the 2004 E220 CDI you're not immediately paying for expensive repairs that were neglected.
