This is more out of curiousity than a problem: Where is the interior temperature sensor on a 93 300D 2.5T (W124)? The reason I ask is that here in New England, even if it's 20-30 degrees out and I'm parked in even slight sun, when I first start the car the A/C is triggered for a while. The cabin isn't at all warm in these situations, so I figure only the sensor is. A little driving and the system corrects itself with heat coming up. However, sometimes I have to increase the temperature selector to about 80 degrees to accelerate this process. Like I said it's not really a problem. I don't mind, but sometimes my passengers think my car is nuts. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The interior temperature sensor is in the dome lamp housing. It's a small grille next to the sunroof switch (if you have one).
I'm not sure if this is the problem, but here is a simple test you can do.
The first thing you want to check is the ventilation blower for the temperature sensor. Get a small piece of paper 1 cm2 and place it over the grille. Make sure that the ignition is on. The paper should stay in place. If not, remove the glove box and check the small blower it's attached to the body on the right side. If it works you need to check the tubing for leeks.
To test the actual sensor is a bit more complicated and should be performed by a tech.

For what it's worth, my W124 does exactly the same thing, and my climate control system is working fine including the aspirator motor (referred to in the post above). I figure that since heat rises, the sensor is reading a higher temperature than our bodies. Like yours, mine stabilizes after a minute or two. I think it's just the nature of the beast.

Somewhere up the center of the dash or at the dome light as well (I think it is at the top of the dash as in the later W107 SL's).

I will take a look to see if I can find the sensor inlet where you said it might be. I already looked around the dash but possibly it is not as visible as the ones on my 300SDs. I never thought about looking around the dome light.
