Did it used to work?... {while you had the car}

Did it ever do anything odd?

Does mean that the alarm is going off? If so when does it happen?

Do you want to fix it or disconnect it?

See this post: 190 Alarm System
If you follow the instructions you should be able to find out if it ~exists/has been unplugged~...

It should~ be activated by key locking the car from outside and deactivated by key unlocking the car from outside... it should be set off if the hood/bonnet, any door, or the trunk/boot is opened while the alarm is active... or if the car is tilted while the alarm is active... to test that it works you can open a window, key lock the car from outside and reach through the window and open the door~ the alarm should go off... ?

Do you know if the 88 190 2.3 auto can be activated by the trunk or passenger?

They should last you longer, if they're out. You can check their connections in the front, check if they're loose or something.
