Need some installation advice about installing the Header Pipe (123-490-82-19) which I purchased at the Fast Lane.
My current header pipe (exhaust pipe connecting to the turbo and running under the car) has a hole. I ordered a replacement OEM part at the Fast Lane. If I am able to loosen the bolts do I have enought clearance to remove the pipe? I am not sure if I can pull the defective header pipe through the hood area or from underneath? Has anyone removed this pipe with the car just sitting on the ground and not on a hoist? I don't want to loosen and remove all the bolts just to find out that I will have to take it to a shop that can raise the car high off the ground. The car is a 1984 300D Turbo. Thanks for any enlightenment! Joe |
Using the OE jack to gain access, I don't see a problem...You will have to crawl under the car to get the bottom bolts out.
