Pistons where to buy?
 
called mercedes and asked them for prices for the pistons i need for my 117.965, they told me they were no longer available!! any ideas? thanks

J E and mahle will make you a custom piston, with the right coating to run in any bore, alusil or iron.

www.adsitco.com seems to have lots of 117 pistons for $169 to $199 but no .965s, not sure if anything might be interchangeable. Click on "download catalog", then go to page 41.

The 9 is an unusual digit in that position. Usually 0,1.

But in any case
 
a model with the "65" on the end should have the same engine, and thus same pistons, if you can find them.

well i decided to leave well enough alone, car runs perfec, just rebuilt the heads, and as a plus i can use low octane unleaded, still very fast, just was thinking what it could do with higher compression

The US Pistons will Fit
 
I think the US engine number is 117.963 for the 500SEL.

Looks like there are 2 different piston sizes for the 117.965.
