#7 at zero will prevent the compressor operation. Check for pressure in the system the old-fashioned way first.

I haven't looked up any of those codes, but can do so later if you need.

#7 at zero

None of the error codes are low charge, and shouldnt the climate control be stuck in economy mode, if charge is low?
maybe it didnt get that signal some how, ill check the charge today, thanks

codes

Those are the error codes from the climate control, not DTC codes

05 is coolant temp. 30 is out of range low

"05 is coolant temp. 30 is out of range low"

my chart says #5 is Evaporator sensor temp, and #6 is coolant temp ?
is myne wrong?
also as i said the evaporator temp sensor i changed because it (#5) was always at 55, it now changes properly with the temp of evap housing.

5 is evaporator, 6 is ECT.

Does this sound like maybe my hi pres switch might be bad? is there anyway to test or bypass this to check before replacing?

Matt L 05-20-2006 11:37 AM

Frankly, I don't know how it works, other than the fact that it's not a switch, takes a regulated +5V supply and ground, and produces an output to the climate-control unit N22.

I need to dig out my climate-control diagnostic manual for another reason, and I'll try to remember to look for any test for this.

Did you put a gauge on the system? You should see at least 30psi on the idle system (and that's very low - should be higher) if it's warm enough for the AC to be needed.

A/C is ok now

I put a guage on it and it was quite low, charged it and now seems to be working fine, I dont know why the EC didnt stay on, or i didnt get a low charge error code, but it working great now, thanks for all the help!!

Well, it works now. Saying it's all good to go may be premature. If it drops again, even a bit, add some dye. I don't know if the evaporators on these cars fail with the frequency of the earlier models, but it would not surprise me.

I'm about to put some dye in my system. I'm afraid of what I'll find out.

A common leak point with the 210 systems is the one foot hose from the receiver/drier to the compressor. Look for oil at the connection to the receiver/drier.

Leak

I checked the hose you mentioned, and all around that i can see, and im not seeing any oil spots or anything unusual, ill keep an eye on the charge and if any changes dig further for a leak
thanks
