95 C280, only running on 4 cylinders
I believe the # 2 and # 6 cyclinfers are not getting a signal at the fuel injector. I'm a little confused if this could be the injectors or if maybe it might be the coil. I think both those cylinders run off the same coil.
My local dealer wants $250 to retrieve the trouble codes, and it seems no one other than the dealer has the equipment to get the trouble codes. So everyone has a different reason for why they think the car is running the way it is. It hasn't been that long sence I changed the coil connectors, and as far as I can tell the Overload relay looks ok. I see no cracks in the sauter and the fuse is good. Does all this point towards a bad coil and if so how much am I going to spend to replace it? |

Isn't your car OBDII? It should be easy to get the codes read. Even if it isn't you should have a 38 pin connector. Try a search - I think there is a nice thread on reading codes on a 95 C280. It seems to me it's an unusual model - an early adoptor of OBDII but perhaps only partially. In any case you ought to be able to get the codes read for next to nothing.

A 94 c280 is partially OBDII compliant, a 95 is supposed to be fully compliant. The thread I was thinking of was on a 94.

Thats great news, I wasn't aware my 95 was OBD11 compliant. Can anyone tell me where the OBD11 connector is? I assume it's on the drivers side under the dash. But I don't recall seeing it there.
And can i purchas the equipment needed to read the 38 pin, that is under the hood? Thank you |

The connector is under the dash, to the right of the steering column, under a plastic "door". Any of the inexpensive OBDII code readers will pull OBDII codes.
