I wish it was that easy!

Hey thanks for the response Battlecat, but I wish it was that easy! when I set my seat all the way forward and look into the back for the set bolts, the rails from the seat are still covering it! it is not exposed like the picture shows, have you ever done this on your? it's possible that the seat is not going up all the way... I guess? if you know of any tricks send them my way! thanks - PS your car looks great!

Do you not see the bolts in both, passenger and driver seats? or is this happening in only one seat?

I haven't even tried the passenger seat, got so frustrated with the driver seat I decided to quit while I was ahead. why do you ask?

There may be black plastic covers over the rear of the rails and the gears that you need to remove to access the bolts. they are on the bottom of the mounting rails just fore of the arms that connect to them... with the seat fully up in the rear, and the covers removed, you should be able to get at them from the inside with a semi-deep 10mm socket.

A2 every thing you said I did! even the black covers, but the thing that stuck out was the "semi deep" this obviously is a special socket wrench?! because when I move the seat all the way up, the metal rails that the seat glide on are still covering the bolts they are tucked under black mounting brackets that are under the rails, that have some sort of motor next to them. even if I get a socket wrench in there I don't see how there is even enough room to rotate it!

How much range of motion does the rear height adjustment on your seat have?.. Because it might be partly stuck.
You should be able to... (with the rear of the seat fully up {just to be clear~by raising the back of the lower horizontal bar on the seat adjustment switch}) ...get your hand (with a 1/4" socket wrench and 10mm socket... semi deep means pretty much normal size socket ;) ...) in between the rails under the seat and turn the bolt which is located a little fore of the motor (gear and arm) under the lip of the slightly rounded in toward the center section of the lower black seat rail that serves as the mounting point for the seat.

If you can't get the rear of the seat to raise up the maybe 3" necessary to get your hand in there you may be screwed... and will have to try various combinations of socket 'elbows' and extensions using any possible angle to get in on it and turn it 1/32nd at a time or whatever you can manage until you can get the thing unthreaded...

Good luck.

thanks

thanks Marty! I will try again to get in there! that is what I was thinking about the seat, that it was stuck! because I don't know how any one could get there hand in there!! let you know how I make out!

found out that the problem was that the seat was not adjusting properly. I raised the passenger seat and saw that the seat went way up! what I did was take apart the power seat control on the door and found that the brass rockers were all tarnished, polished them up and the seat went up and the mounting bolts were exposed. word of caution if anyone attempts the removal of the power seat control= it is full of springs and ball bearings, when you open it they fly everywhere!

Tried to figure it out for an hour. Tried looking for an hour on the posts. I could not figure out how to get the last bolt out next to center console. I played with the switch (got lucky no removal and repair) and then it adjusted just as you said. 15 minutes later the seat is unbolted. Thank you for posting your question and answers. This has made my night a success.
