Blower motor question.
 

Hi all,
First I would like to thank you all for what you do on this forum. You have helped me a lot with my recently acquired 89' 300e. I don't know too much about cars, much less MBs, and this forum has been wonderful.

Ok, now the question. I am awaiting arrival of a new bearing bracket and decided to replace the blower motor, as it was not working. I got it out and it was locked up, so I messed with it and was able to get it spinning again. I placed it back in to see if it would work at this point and it did not. Now, I have the v belt off, so would the blower motor work without the belt? I figure it would work even though the belt is off, but want to make sure before I go spend the money on a new blower motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
