Fuses

why does benz use such an odd design?

eutectics aren't they?

my 1987 560sec has been experiencing odd electrical problems. none of the eutectics are melted, but the fuses must have developed some debilities.

replaced them all with new ones. electrical glitches have disappeared.

why don't i find fuses like this in american-manufactured vehicles?

all ears.

You must mean the Bosch fuses, with the conical ends that engage holes in the contacts. They're common on older European cars.
