A/c Fan?

OK,
mY ISSUE THIS WEEK END WAS AFTER INSTALLING FERON MY A/C WOULD RUN FOR 2SEC AND SHUT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING SAME THING;WHAT i NOTICE IS THAT THE A/C FAN DID'NT START. I JUMP IT AND IT WORKED FINE. COULD THIS BE THE ISSUE OF MY A/C NOT WORKING? IF SO, HOW DO I START NARROWING THESE CAUSES? ALL OPINIONS WELCOME..........88 2.3 190.

Is it normal for the a/c to come on a few sec and cut off;due to not enough pressure to trip the sensor? Ihave to admit I've only used half a can. Thought being that it suppose to stay on. How many can does 190 take to fill?

The A/C fan operation is based on system pressure. Check the system properly with a pressure gauge to see if it is low on refrigerant.

If you do not have gauges , you can check the sight glass [ if you still have R12]
You are looking for a clear refrigerant flow at the glass.
If the unit has been converted to 134, you should use gauges.

Ok,now That I Have The A/c Working;it Was The Relay, Now The Fan Still Doesnt Come On, Heat Comes Out Of The Side Vent, and Cool Air Only Below Through The Center Vent When Driving 40 Plus Mph. Open To All Suggestions

exactly how many fuses and relays activate the a/c fan and where do I find them?

The system can shut itself off in the case of overcharging.Atleast it did on my 97 E420..all i had to do is release some gas and it was fine.
