I'd be interested on your input on this.

I assume that you have the same evaporator as in the LHD model. I'm not sure why a slightly low refridgerant level affects the left side of the evaporator so distinctly, while seemingly not affecting the right side.

At first I thought that perhaps all of the refridgerant is evaporating in the right side and was a warm gas by the time it got over to the left, but now I'm starting to suspect that the left side fills with oil (and starves the compressor).

I'd first presumed that the heater panel was at fault, but actually the AC isn't the coldest I've come across in the cars I've owned so I reckon a trip to an AC specialist is probably a good idea :)

Worked! Kind of

OK,

Going through the diagnostics showed me a high pressure of 7 bars, so I took out some R134 and gave the system some. I got it to 16 bars when stressing to cool the car in mid 90s heat. It is definatly working better, but the passenger's side is still notibably cooler then the drivers. I guess this is a feature even when working properly? Oh well, thanks so much for all the help, looks like I will be cruizing in the A/C this summer after all.
