1992 500sl Convertible Top Mechanicals
 

I have a 1992 500sl that has developed a leak in one of the four convertible top lift cylinders. Unfortunately the removable hard top apears to be locked on the windshield and unlocked at the trunk. Is there a manual way to unlock the windshield end of the removable hard top, so I can remove it and gain access to the cylinder.
It appears i'll have to also manually raise the convertible top compartment lid to access the bolts that hold the cylinder mechanism in place.
