I have a 1975 280 SE with a 4-speed autobox, and when I put it into reverse, it takes a long time before the autobox goes into gear. If I step too much on the gas, it slips.
This goes only for reverse (R), and NOT for any of the other gears. What is this problem??? |

This car has a reverse band adjustment, start there. There are too many items involved to say that this could be the exact(only) problem, but it's the most likely.
