Greetings All,

I have been having some problems with my power steering pump
(88' 300e). It has 121K miles on it. I have read all the related post, and checked everything I could, I still get some groaning sounds when I turn the wheel. My questions. Is replacing the power steering pump a difficult job? Are there any special tools required? I appreciate your comments. Tks.

The relevant sections from the CD (bleeding pump; replacing pump) aren't at all long.

The only tools required seem to be something to suck the fluid from the resevoir (ie clean turkey baster w/benz part #) and a hose clamp to block fluid leekage from the low pressure hose (5$ at pep boys).

If you'd like me to send you the two relevant PDF files, email me so I can reply with an attachment.
