The interior door latches on my 91 560SEC do not lay flush with the door panel (both driver and passenger door) It feels like the spring that pulls it in flush is weak, and they protrude about 3/8". Is there an adjustment to tighten or make them flush, or do I need to remove the door panel and replace the spring ? My dealer says since there is no "spring" listed as a separate part, I will need to replace the entire mechanism. Any thoughts on repairing this minor annoyance ? Thanks very much !

I have the same problem on my passenger door. And slightly on my drivers door. I was just thinking about this too. Now that this post is back at the top, maybe someone will be kind enough to let us know how to fix this!
