Need help with AC
 

E420 has been at the shop for 4 days and counting because the AC is in-op. If you bypass the front controls the AC works and the fans work. The computer and the front controls have been switched out for known good ones and still no luck. Any Ideas thanks in advance.

there is a known problem involving the evaporator temp sensor on these cars...it's an inexpensive part and can cause the ACC to go to "econ" mode.

What year is your car?

Does the shop know Mercedes?

Sorry 94 e420, I am not sure if it is in econ mode never any cold air and the aux fans do not operate so that the car overheats in stop and go traffic.

The shop is American Service Center they only sell and work on Mercedes. That is why I am a little concerned.

ASC ought to know what they are doing. Hard to believe they can't find the problem.

Well they are into the second week, I have be told that the shop foreman will look into the problem on Wednesday.

Laslywhite- if you don't have any luck at ASC, take it to Peter at Silver Star Motors in Vienna. He is excellent and very reasonable. I live right down the street from ASC.....
