my 350se makes a slight low-pitched metallic grinding noise which seems to come from the driveshaft tunnel area... it only happens after the car's been sitting for 10 mins or more, or for example overnight, then goes away after less than a minute of driving. The exhaust system is slightly loose where one rubber hanger broke and is currently supported on one side by a couple of heavy-duty plastic ties, but I don't think this could be it?
