89 190E 2.6 - Trying to Decide

I have been looking at an 89 190E 2.6 with 123k. Owner will take $2400. But Kelly BB says $1850 in "good" condition. Body in great shape and will come with 4 extra Blizzak snow tires.

I posted this b4 but here's what I saw so far:

- no a/c
- tears in driver's door and rear door panel
- breaks in air register on dash.
- tore up hood insulation
- tore up firewall insulation

Drives very well.

I just don't know if this price is suitable. Any opinions?

I agree - wait for a 92 or 93 - you'll be happier without a school bus sized steering wheel.

$$$$$?

Don't mind the large steeing wheel... if the $$ is right. Can you all give me some basis for your dollar numbers? Does throwing in 4 Bridgestone Blizzaks make it worth a bit more?

Also, I test drove it again today (3rd time). I noticed that the rpm gets up to 2000-2500 at idle. Almost feels/sounds like a stuck choke (assuming this vehicle has a choke plate - which usually can be resolved by carb cleaner). Owner says car sat unused for at least 6 mos until now.

It does drive very well, suspension feel good, tranny kicks down when gas is floored. I did felt resistance in the gas pedal about halfway down. I had to press harder to get full accelleration - almost like it was stuck until I press harder. This may explain the high idle??

It's fuel injected. Hunting down a high idle is never fun.

Fuel injected cars have choke plates in throttle body. I assume MBs have them too.
