valve seals and vacuum
After reading through a few treads here, i would like to know how valves that doesnt seal properly would affect a vacuum guage reading?
i have an w123 280 1979 euro with solex carb, i want to hook up a vacuum gauge, and check for not properly sealing valve seats. How what not properly sealing valve seats show up on a vacuum gauge |
Anyone To Help?
ANYONE PLEASE:confused:

Leaky inlet valves will cause a loss and variation of idle manifold vacuum, but you need a baseline to compare.
Leaky exhaust valve seats can cause afterfiring in the exhaust system. A dry/wet compression or cylinder leak down test is the best diagnostic for valve seat sealing. Duke |
