Erratic Idle in 1990 300E
 

Hello, would any of you be so kind and direct me to an article that might help me in solving an erratic idle I am having with my 300E W124? Whether cold or warm, it idles between 500 and 700 (up and down) but the engine does not stop. However, since I am in the process of replacing the AC Compressor, I am not sure if the extra force required to run the ac, will make it stop. Any help?

Do a search - there are a lot of possible causes of this particular symptom, and what you find will help identify further symptoms which will narrow the seach to just a few possible culprits.
