SL-55 Trouble. NEED TECH HELP!!!!!

I own a 2004 SL-55. Has 15,000 miles. Recently when I first start the car and punch it (the pedal to the floor) it HAULS BALLS!!! I can feel myself go back in my own seat. However, when I continue to drive for a while and continually punch it every now and then, all of a sudden it's as if it's riding like a sl-500. I see my revs go up but the speedometer barely moves and I dont feel that G-force like I did when I first steped into the car. It's going literally 0-60 in 7 seconds. I have continually told this to the Mercedes dealership down here in Reno and they continually think i've gone crazy. Please help, if it's a computer problem or a trans. prob. or if you have any info on what's happening. Thanks.

Mercedes Benz states " compressor boost can be reduced up to 40% at the shift point in order to protect the gear box. Normal, do not replace any parts". That's a direct quote.
I don't know what variables the vehicle needs in order to reduce boost, but I've never experienced it. I would imagine it senses the difference in speed sensors inside the trans. I've beat the crap out of several SL55's and never felt like the compressor was being cut back. Good luck.

If the charge air temperature gets too high, boost is limited. There's an auxiliary coolant pump behind the right front headlight area that can fail and cause this problem. MB issued a DTB back in April concerning this issue. Good luck

P.S. I got to drive an SL 55 on the racetrack at Pocono last year. I think it was the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.:D

I would suspect that the intercooler pump is bad. The bosch pumps on the 55 engines are notorious for going haywire and cause heat soak. Have your dealer check it out.
