I think that the Yeti that works for the service garage has lost the key to my car. If that is the case, can I call a Mercedes dealer with VINs or chassis numbers and have a new one made? I know most domestic manufacturers do this as well as a Japanese maker or two. It will help a lot and I'll kick myself later for not having a copy made when I got the car. If I remember correctly, MB keys have to be made at either a dealership or a locksmith.

You must go to the dealership with ID, registration and they will order you a new key. It took 3-5 days for me, actually 3.

The older model keys can be made by a locksmith and the newer model keys have to be ordered at the MB dealer.
You can order your keys by chassis#/VIN# at the dealer.
