I have a 1986 300E and the ac/heating fan does not come on. I have checked the fuse and it was good. I then pulled apart the blower housing turned the fan on and checked for voltage going to the fan. There was not any voltage so I ran a jumper from the battery to the fan motor and the fan ran. So, now I believe that the control panel in the car is bad. Now my question Have I over looked anything and is there any way to check the panel out? any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't know if this will help but under the DIY section there is a very detailed discussion of the HVAC system in many MB's. Here's the URL:
