MBSteve,
Atleast you have that to start with!! I have nothing, there is not handsfree kit for my car. What a pain. I intend to do this also. Hopefully we will be able to work this out.
I have, not the Shop manual for my car, but I have MBUSA Technical CD on my C280, it is for the W202's. I know there is information on the technical aspects, and there has to be something in there that can help, hopefully it might work for you too. I will let you know when I look at the CD later tonight, if I can't have someone bring it to me here at work.

C280?

David,

Are you trying to do this in the '95 C280? If not, ignore the rest of this note!

If so, I checked my CD (W140 chassis) and there is a complete schematic for the cell phone. Note that it's an INTERCONNECTION diagram, so the 'boxes' that it connects to are just shown as 'blocks'. But all the wiring is shown and how they all interconnect.

The CD (Popular Mechanics) is good for all cars UP to and including model year 1995. So your car sb in there. FYI!

JimF,
Yes, this is for the 1995 C280. ANy info on that??

(BTW, does anyone know if a 1999 E430 uses optic fibers instead of copper wires?)

David,

Go to the Sprint web site http://e11.sprintpcs.com/store/accessories.asp. They have a handsfree car kit for the Samsung 8500 that looks like the Nokia, with all of the connectors for an antennae and aux speaker and mic. - maybe this will help. It is $199.99 on the web.

The european Nokia hands free car kits come with 5 wires: red (permanent power), blue (switched power), green (power to antenna), black (ground) & yellow (radio mute). Are these color codes the same as in the states?

I have attached my Nokia car kit to the european MB speaker in the european additional cell phone console:

and I have connected the Nokia car kit to the OEM MB microphone:

I know that the US OEM MB cell phones are different, but, David, if you can get yourself a car kit for your Samsung, you should be able to connect it to some of the existing wiring and parts...

greetingz,

Steve,
Thanks to MBSteve, I went ahead and ordered that 200 dollar in car speakerphone. It should be here on Friday and I will have it installed on Saturday. I don't think they can use any of the existing parts, but maybe? I don't know if they will really need to anyway, since I bought the whole kit. Anyway, I will let you all know how it goes! Thanks Steve for the help you were able to provide.

David, I work for Sprint PCS here in Ga. and I have the handsfree carkit here in my store for about $150 bucks! That is my cost. If you do not get the handsfree for that phone let me know! I will be glad to sell it to you at that price if you pay for shipping! Good Luck and let me know!

Joe
