I recently found my 95 S320L's door closing aids don't work properly- 3 out of the 4 doors can't close. It seems that the pump is not 'POWERFUL' enough to close the doors. However, the trunk's closing assist works fine. I found the fuse box in the trunk but can anyone tell me which fuse is the #9 one? I just installed a new battery (standard 100Ah one) but I used a lower 'A' one for a week to replace my old flat one. Dose it affect the pump's operation?? Any advice appreciated !!

just wanna remind you that the trunk close assist. is using different vacuum pump. I think you should check the vacuum line first, if it doesn't leak, you better change the vacuum pump for door close assist. it's pretty expensive, try to find an used one in junk yard or....

good luck.

This happened about 2 years back to us on the S420. I remember the trunk still closed (and I think the driver door did too, but can't be sure). I don't recall what was wrong with it, but it was fixed under warranty. If I can find the work order receipt, I will be back later tonight to let you know what went wrong with ours.

Very common problem with 140 body.......sometimes you can pull out the fuse for 10 seconds or so and it will reset.....sometimes this only works temporarilly though....replacement was $950 at my local MB dealer...and I also noticed that the new one one seemed to work faster(stronger) than the old...maybe an update?
I also think there was a trunk latch update as of the 1995 models...I was offered this by my dealer for $250.00 and I declined.
