C220 - Possessed Windshield Wiper
 

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. The windshield wiper on my '95 C220 occasionally, like once a week, will spontaneously turn on and sweep the windshield a few times. It is in the intermittent mode when it sweeps. It will stop by itself after a few sweeps or I can stop it buy turning the wiper switch on then off. It appears the either the wiper relay or the wiper switch is going out. Has anyone else seen this? What was the fix?

i have seen relay 201 821 02 47 cause this issue, see link below for picture, it is located in the rear of the fuse box under the hood, you might want to lube the wiper mechanism as well, see this link for lube instructions http://202tech.mkosonen.com/howto/wiper.html

Thanks for the info. Your web site has a lot of good info too. It's time to do some wiper maintenance and I think I will go ahead and change out the rely.
