It is going to be safer to rent her a car though, if your rushed for time....working on fuel systems in a hurry, is a solid bet for disaster.

im a truck driver and my truck that i owned is located in california so it means that im gonna be gone for a good 2 weeks or even 3

Quit while your ahead.........Get a shop to change out the filter for you and tell them to let you know if the car is drivable.

Rent a car for a day or two and get the Mercedes properly repaired.
There's got to be a responsible shop in Lv you can trust.
