600SEL climate control fan staying on?

Got a question about this fan ducted to the small opening in the ceiling by the interior lights, on a 92 600SEL is this suppose to stay on after you turn off the car?

Thanks in advance,

No, the fan is supposed to be off when the car is off.

That fan is called the aspirator motor, and it is probably actually behind the side passenger air vent, if it is the same as the W124 cars.

It sucks air up through the vent, through the headliner and down to the screen you see by the rear view mirror. The air temp sensor is there for the climate control.
