190e won't idle until driven over 10 MPH???
Anyone ever encounter this problem?????
It has done this intermittently, now it does it all the time. Hot, cold, if you start the car (starts right up) it will immediately die out unless hold the accelerator open. Once you drive the car down the block, no problems. No stalling. No issues. Idles fine. ????? Tinker |

Cold Start Valve
Idle Control Valve Check your throttle body...clean it. Make sure its not sticking.

I adjusted the throttle stop to allow slightly more air and all is well.
I had removed the whole intake system a while back to replace the potentiometer and I played with the stop. The car worked fine for several years and just recently started to act up. Strange. Tinker |

Check the switch that closes when the throttle plate is at idle. That switch tells the idle speed governor to control idle speed. If the switch is not set properly the idle govenor never controls idle speed and it will stall.

Dave,
The car starts and idles fine now. I think a problem with the switch would present itself all the time. My symptoms were only during starting. Thanks anyways. Tinker |
