Climate control error code help - need sensor?

I have a 1999 e300td. From time to time the thing decides to blow hot from the two side vents when the AC is on. The two center vents work fine. Also the two center vents are noticably colder than the side vents. I've found the duovent discsussions and will clean that out next. I checked the codes in the climate control and I got some errors:

1 - 85
2 - 136 (way too hot, the thing had been idling for a bit in 95 temp)
3 - 58 (These are celcius I assume? Way too low otherwise)
4 - 57 - ditto
5 - 55
6 - E (This is the one I thing is busted - what/where is an ECT sensor?)
7 - 17
8 - 132

The erro codes are
b1231
b1234

I think these both mean something is out of bounds no?

Any ideas as to what to do?

thx

Andy

Am sure some techs will chime in Monday. In the mean time this link will provide some info to explain the codes.

common problem with this car and the 202 is the evap temp sensor.if you lower the panel under the st. wheel you need to get access to above the accelerator pedal.there are no wires in that area except the two wires to the ets sensor the sensor is pushed into the airbox and is shaped like a boomerang.pull it out and replace it.it's so common here in dallas that the service advisors at the dealership will replace on the service drive. david poole european performance dallas tx.

Raymond - thx - mine is W210 chassis too so any experiences you'd be willing to share would be great!

Terry - thanx!

David - thx - Sounds easy enough - do you know the proper name of the part or number? Was that the ECT one? Some lists show #6 as ECT others say sun sensor I think.

I'm still concerned about the other temps - several of them just don't read right... (like the core temp left/right)

Thanx

Andy

There is an update for the system too....usually this has been done but check that to, at STAR tekinfo.

Evap' temp' sensors are prone to failure ....located by the throttle pedal and up a little.
