Stalling 1993 190e 2.3l
Hello everyone this is my first post.
I have a 190e that will stall every so often, If I let it sit for over 10 min it will start again (fuel relay?). I have searched and found that there are about 10 possible things that can cause this problem! From your knowledge what is the most probable causes? Also what are there loacations?(relays, switches, fuses) What type of service should I perform for a 100k 190e?(iac,maf,tb cleaning?) Thank you for your help I am a mechanic but not at all familliar with mercs. So I figured ask someone who knows! Dave |

I read on this forum that timed stalls yours can be caused by vacuum forming in your tank. Another is overheating ignition coils.

Crankshaft position sensor can cause stalling like you describe ,the engine will normally start again once it has cooled for a period, until the next time. It's #11 in this diagram and is fitted in the bellhousing above the starter motor.

Bad coil and/or CPS mentioned above are certainly a possibility.
Add to this list -> OVP - Over Voltage Protection Relay. This device gets more blame than George Bush. http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1KU172UOY1V11DJCSC&year=1993&make=MB&model=190-E-004&category=P&part=Overload+Relay
