I have an E420 and it wont start. The crank speed seems slow, and the tach doesnt move at all. Im thinking the starter is the problem, anyway I can't double check besides hooking a tachometer to the engine (i dont have-one yet). Would the lack of movement at the tachometer in the cabin be a sign. I assume 300 to 350 would be cranking speed which should be easily registered at the in cabin tachometer.
My understanding is that if your chip goes bad in your key this can also turn the fuel injection off because your cars (DAS) system does not recognize your key. I was told if this occurs you should get blinking light on your mirror (red & green lights). They are not blinking on my car so I am assuming this is not my problem.
IF ANYONE CAN RECOMMEND SOME CHECKS TO PERFORM IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED******DON'T WANT TO GO TO THE STEALER SHIP UNLESS I HAVE TO****
