Question 1988 560 SEC - 286,000Miles

Hello All. This is my first time at this site, and was looking for your opinions.

I just purchased a 1988 560 SEC with 286,000 Miles on it. It has the following issues:
AC does not work
Sunroof won't open
Drivers side, and rear passanger side window do not open (I think it's just the switch)

And I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but When accelerating at a normal rate it shifts very hard. A friend of mine said that he thinks it had some sort of "upgrade" because when accelerating quickly it will shift smoother. He thinks the previous owner may have suped it up for racing or something.

The engine runs great, it starts right up. No fluid leaks that I can find so far. So far I really like it. Basically I was hoping there may be some quick/cheap fixes to some of these things. I do not have the vehicals history. I got it at an auction, so don't know the previous owner. I only paid $900 for it though, so I think I got it cheap...What do you think.

Anyway, any suggestions/opinions/advice would be great.

Thanks!!!

ML

A/c could be just about anything from a seized compressor to just a little low on freon, or anything in between. Going to take some diagnostics to nail down.

Sun roof motor could be shot, fuse bad, cable or roof tray could be broken, or something as simple as needing to be cleaned and properly lubed.

Windows are most likely the fuse. They are fused in pairs - lf/rr and rf/lr.

Hard shifting could be the vacuum modulator on the drivers side of the tranny, bad or out of adjustment. Could also be a disconnected vacuum line or bad rubber connector at the tranny end. The vacuum line comes out from under the rear of the intake.

PS Edit: Oh, BTW there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes
